About The Position

As a per diem, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will work up to 19 hours/week in a variety of shifts. There are no regularly scheduled hours for this position About the Facility: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art 456 bed facility featuring the newest technology in the field of patient care. It is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center, three Family Health Centers, and the only Burn Center serving the San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, and Mono counties About the Pharmacy: Arrowhead provides both Outpatient and Inpatient Pharmacy Services. The Inpatient Pharmacy is open 24/7, 365 days/year, while the Outpatient Pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-9:00pm and weekends and holidays from 8:00am-7:30pm. The pharmacies utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and FSI

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current California certified pharmacy technician license in good standing
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy technician experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Experience with IV/sterile compounding
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
  • Prepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
  • Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
  • Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations
