About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, maintains accurate records, and supports daily pharmacy operations in compliance with Illinois state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer and data entry skills
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Prior pharmacy or healthcare experience
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications
- Enter and verify prescription and patient information accurately
- Maintain medication inventory, including stocking and expiration checks
- Process insurance claims and handle billing-related tasks
- Provide customer service under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the pharmacy
- Follow all pharmacy laws, policies, and HIPAA requirements
