About The Position

Integrated Healthcare Pharmacy, LLC is a full retail pharmacy created to service all AltaPointe patients. Its goal is to increase patient adherence to their medication compliance by providing a convenient, customer-centered option. The location is in our Adult Outpatient Program, where we provide the least restrictive level of care to adults so that they may receive clinical interventions aimed at decreasing existing signs and symptoms. Outpatient treatment focuses on recovery, problem resolution, symptom reduction, stabilization and/or prevention of movement to a higher level of care. Treatment varies widely and depends upon the consumer’s presenting symptoms.

Requirements

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician with High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone for pharmacy department
  • Assists in notifying physician for any order changes or order expirations
  • Properly identifies consumer profile and medication to ensure its correct dispensation
  • Responsible for removing any outdated medications
  • Receives and posts stock medication from Amerisource Bergen
  • Reviews and signs each invoice to ensure correct medication received
  • Assists medical staff with obtaining consumer prescription history
  • Conducts appropriate consultations with other staff members in reference to consumer medication
  • Assists in maintaining adequate supply of medications in the Pharmacy and Pyxis MedStations
  • Assists in inventory control and counting inventory
  • Assists in maintaining required pharmacy reports and prescription files
  • Follows all policies and procedures set forth by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy
  • Maintains medical, prescription and supply stock
  • Collects dispensing fees or makes necessary arrangements for payment
  • Provides proper receipt for fee collected then distributes medication
  • Assists the consumers with getting new prescriptions filled
  • Prepares list and labels for group homes and outreach clinics
  • Receives medication requests and refill requests from consumers
  • Assists consumers with application for Patient Assistance Program
  • Assists in printing labels and filling of medications
