Requirements

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in patient safety by accurately collecting and verifying medication histories, reducing the risk of medication errors and adverse drug events upon admission.
  • Serve as a key member of the interdisciplinary care team by collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, and emergency physicians to ensure every patient has an accurate, up-to-date medication record from the moment they arrive.
  • Directly contribute to better patient outcomes by identifying medication discrepancies, documenting allergies, and capturing critical dosing information for high-risk medications that could impact treatment decisions.
  • Help nurses and providers focus on hands-on patient care by taking ownership of the medication reconciliation process, allowing the entire care team to work at the top of their license.
