The unit is responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, maintaining comprehensive medication inventory and control, including narcotics and controlled substances. This includes selecting, calculating, measuring, preparing (both sterile and non-sterile), packaging, labeling, charging, and crediting various pharmacy products like intravenous medications. In addition, the pharmacy ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. How you’ll contribute A Pharmacy Technician, Hourly/PRN who excels in this role will: Participates in the in-patient and out-patient medication distribution and information management processes. Answer telephones and electronic messages. Enter, maintain, and assure the accuracy of all information in the Pharmacy Department’s patient database. Receive and process medication orders and prescriptions via medication order/entry-locate, assemble, package, and label drug doses (new orders, unit-dose cycle fill, and out-patient prescriptions), deliver completed orders. Clarify questionable requests and solve distribution problems. Post charges/credits for transactions that are not completed via order-entry. Assemble stock orders . Requirements

  • Applicants should be a High School graduate or equivalent.
  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification within 1 year of hire or actively pursuing certification (as determined by pharmacy management & not to exceed an additional 6 months) or Licensed Practical Nurse.
