About The Position

The Technician, Pharmacy is an integral member of the pharmacy team. You will receive and verify prescriptions, prepare orders, check prices, fill prescriptions, processes paperwork and insurance claims, and assist in inventory management. You will also be responsible for providing sterling customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of pharmacy technician experience with a preference for specialty pharmacy or 340B pharmacy experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Knowledge of MS Office, windows, and databases.
  • Adheres to all agency policies including, but not limited to, Employee Handbook, Confidentiality, Healthcare Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other policies.

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • Expert insurance knowledge necessary for pharmacy operations
  • HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, behaving in a positive and courteous manner to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess a desire to learn about all areas of the pharmaceutical industry and maintain this curiosity throughout your work.
  • Collect all pertinent patient information, provide thorough and accurate benefit verification, and process prescription orders with detail, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Fill prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with the Vivent Health medical clinic and other employees that interact with the pharmacy.
  • Represent Vivent Health Pharmacy positively when interacting with outside vendors and clinics.
  • Participate in daily paperwork and processes relating to technician duties that help manage pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Possess expert insurance knowledge necessary for pharmacy operations, including ADAP and 340B intricacies.
  • Keep up to date with all policies and procedures needed for processing prescriptions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
