Requirements

  • 6 months pharmacy technician experience
  • Valid state pharmacy technician or technician trainee license. If not yet licensed, must be able to provide proof of application.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB National Certification

Responsibilities

  • Collects prescription orders received through specialty mail, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Utilizes pharmacy software systems to accurately input and verify prescription information, patient demographics, and insurance details.
  • Gathers medication packages for shipment, following proper packaging and labeling procedures to ensure safe and secure delivery.
  • Performs inventory management tasks, including receiving, stocking, and rotating specialty medications to maintain adequate supply levels.
  • Escalates concerns with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to prescription orders or patient information.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to privacy regulations while handling sensitive information and medication orders.
  • Provides excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of medications.
  • Assists in quality control checks to ensure the accuracy of prescription processing, packaging, and labeling activities.
  • Stays updated on pharmacy regulations, specialty medications, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development activities.
