About The Position

Are you accurate, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others? Horizon LTC Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team in Grand Rapids, MI. We’re committed to supporting our pharmacy technicians at every stage of their careers. Whether you’re already licensed or just getting started, we provide the training, tools, and encouragement you need to grow and succeed in the pharmacy field—all while making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. We start unlicensed technicians at $16/hour, with a $2 merit increase upon becoming licensed. Our established licensing program helps guide unlicensed technicians through the process so they can become fully licensed and confident in their role. Requirements

  • Michigan Pharmacy Technician License OR eligibility for our licensing program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use pharmacy software
  • Strong English communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to comply with company policies, patient protocols, and regulations
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Ability to complete required annual education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmacy or healthcare is helpful but not required—we’re happy to train motivated individuals!

Responsibilities

  • Measuring, counting, labeling, and documenting medications
  • Packaging medications and filling unit dose cards
  • Verifying expiration dates and medication quantities
  • Properly labeling and organizing medications (including liquids, insulin, and inhalers)
  • Assisting the pharmacy team as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
