Requirements

  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with prescription processing systems and pharmacy software.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and drug classifications.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with pharmacy staff and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurately preparing and labeling medications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills for assisting patients and addressing their needs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to prescription processing and customer inquiries.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in processing prescription orders, including data entry and insurance verification.
  • Prepare and label prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pharmacy area, including stocking shelves and managing inventory.
  • Assist customers with prescription pickups and inquiries, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Handle incoming phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate pharmacy staff member.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork and maintaining patient records.
  • Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance.
