Pharmacy Technician - USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center (South LA)
About The Position
The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. USC's Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accepting applications for a Pharmacy Technician at the USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center in South Los Angeles. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for prescription order entry, filling prescriptions, compounding special orders, answering phones, retrieving messages, inventory maintenance and stocking shelves, conducting sales and operating POS devices. Additional duties will include filing paperwork, as well as obtaining prior authorizations and billing.
Requirements
- Valid CA Pharmacy Technician License Required
- Completion of accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience as per Board of Pharmacy technician regulations, sec. 1793.4.
- Knowledge of pharmacy law, rules, regulations, pharmacology & medical terminology, manufacturing procedures.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Registration, State of California.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (English - Spanish) is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of TARS, Medicare billing, Third Party Insurance billing
- RX30 software and inventory management skills a plus.
- CPhT certification a plus.
- Excellent customer service and high-level communication skills.
- Compounding non-sterile medications.
