About The Position

Position Summary: Assists Pharmacists in the drug distribution Process Essential Functions of the Job: Counts, packages, pre-packages, and labels medication for inspection by pharmacist and fills routine orders for non-prescription pharmaceuticals. Inputs patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system to process prescriptions and maintain patient profiles. Assists and serves patients. Assists in the ordering, stocking, and maintenance of drug inventory. Bills and adjudicates prescription claims. Assists in the preparation of reports and written documentation, as required by the department, company, state and federal agencies. Assists pharmacists as directed. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory of forms, clerical and pharmaceutical supplies, paper and equipment. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops. Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent and completion of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician intern hours
  • Pharmacy License from CA Board of Pharmacy
  • Current and valid driver’s license with access to insured vehicle
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Familiarity with Medi-Cal Program is helpful.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Some lifting of supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions correctly and accurately.
  • May be required to work some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Superb organizational ability and exceptionally analytical
  • Driving and occasional travel required.
  • Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.
  • Compliance with all mandated vaccinations and all boosters is a term and condition of employment.
