About The Position

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), founded in 1987, is the largest specialized provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the nation, dedicated to providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy regardless of a patient's ability to pay. A Pharmacy Technician at AHF contributes by demonstrating Level I Technician competencies as outlined in the AHF Pharmacy Policy, Procedure and Training manual. This role requires sensitivity to the stigma of HIV and associated comorbidities, an understanding of chronic disease treatment difficulties, barriers to care, and the importance of patient anonymity and privacy. The technician is expected to be a passionate advocate for AHF's initiatives, uphold AHF's Core Values and Mission, and adapt to a dynamic environment. The position involves working collaboratively within a close-knit team to build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, staff, and referral sources to facilitate patient demographic and medication treatment plan exchanges.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating the competencies of a Level I Technician as described in the Scope of Practice and Responsibilities found in the AHF Pharmacy Policy, Procedure and Training manual
• Being sensitive to the “stigma” of HIV and associated comorbidities
• Understanding the difficulty of treating chronic diseases, barriers to care, and the importance of patients’ needs to maintain anonymity and privacy
• Being a passionate advocate for AHF's top initiatives
• Ensuring that the AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that you do
• Working as a part of a close-knit team to establish and maintain good working relationships with healthcare providers, staff and referral sources to facilitate the exchange of patient demographics and medication treatment plans
