About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician has, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities in the Pharmacy Department\: Intravenous product preparation, Unit dose cartfill, Inventory management, Automated and decentralized medication stocking (Pyxis), Outpatient prescriptions. The percentage of time that a particular technician spends on specific responsibilities will differ depending on the number of tasks the technician is trained to complete. Technicians must be internally trained in a task prior to being able to perform the task on their own.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy OR active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with concurrent active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
  • For newly registered technicians/registered interns without Tech 240 certification, you will need to complete 240 hours of theoretical and practical training on-site within twelve months of hire.
  • Certified as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) or complete within twelve months of hire is required.
  • Active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with concurrent active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy may be accepted in leu of CPhT certification.
