Overview The Pharmacy Technician position, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
One (1) year of experience working in a high-volume pharmacy or equivalent setting required.
Ability to lift 40lbs.
Effective oral and written communication skills and an aptitude for working with other health care professionals.

Nice To Haves

National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
Experience working with online claims processing system preferred.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist.
Maintain patient records.
Set up, package, and label medication doses.
Perform designated tasks regarding processing of equipment and supply orders, and preparation of sterile products.
Package and ship medications.
Setup and optimization of delivery routes.
Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling.
Notify Pharmacist staff of dispensing, storage, packaging, and/or related issues.
Proper rotation of stock, supplies, packaging materials, and shipping supplies.
Maintain the cleanliness of the registered and packaging space.
Must function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines with deviation approved by the supervising pharmacist.
