About The Position
Looking to add flexibility to your schedule? This PRN role is perfect for a Pharmacy Technician who can step in whenever coverage is needed. Youll provide coverage as needed for call-outs, vacations, and holidays while gaining valuable hospital pharmacy experience. CompleteRx is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (PRN) to support a 284-bed acute care hospital at South Shore Hospital in South Chicago. Pay Rate: $21 an hour 2nd Shift Pay Differential: $1.65 per hour Pharmacy Shifts Include As Needed: Monday - Friday , 7am - 3pm / 2pm - 10pm Saturday and Sunday , 7am - 3pm / 12pm - 8pm PRN Opportunities Include: Flexible work schedule. 401(k) Paid time off Paid sick time Hospital Overview: South Shore Hospital is more than a high-quality medical center its a community you can trust. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferably in a hospital setting.
- Possess current pharmacy technician registration in the State of Illinois.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
- Identifies and fills replacement medications on emergency crash carts, OR carts, and floor stock accurately.
- Prepares sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) accurately.
- Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately.
- Rotates stock to ensure use before the expiration date.
- Picks up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
- Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately.
- Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.
