The Inpatient Pharmacy Team works to fulfil the medication therapy needs for all of the inpatients and outpatients of Lakewood Health System, including comprehensive chemotherapy preparation. The mission of the Hospital Pharmacy Technician is to provide quality medication therapy for the inpatients and outpatients we serve. The position is a full-time position working 64 hours a pay period (0.8FTE). Shifts are between 6:30am and 5:00pm. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.

Requirements

  • Registered/qualified to be registered as a pharmacy technician by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly inspections of medication storage areas, documenting findings, and replacing any outdated or unusable items.
  • Adhere to quality standards by collecting data, conducting quality monitoring, and maintaining accurate documentation as required.
  • Manage logs, records, and all required documentation to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.
  • Restock medication and IV dispensing areas within specified timeframes, accurately and safely repackage bulk medications into unit-dose packages as needed.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing of medications and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and organized efficiently.
  • Prepare sterile medications, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition, adhering to safety and accuracy protocols.
