About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in providing safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy services within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. This role assists with prescription processing, inventory management, patient assistance programs, and coordination of care with the clinical team. The Pharmacy Technician will help ensure patients have timely access to affordable medications while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position will report to the Pharmacist. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS While living and demonstrating our Core Values, the Pharmacy Technician will: Assist the Pharmacist with preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements. Receive and process prescription orders, ensuring accuracy of patient information and medication details. Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking medications and supplies. Maintain accurate records for controlled substances, returns, and waste in compliance with state and federal regulations. Support 340B program operations, including eligibility verification, documentation, and auditing. Coordinate with clinical staff to support medication reconciliation and adherence programs. Assist patients with insurance billing, prior authorizations, and patient assistance or discount programs. Provide courteous and culturally sensitive customer service to patients, addressing basic medication-related inquiries or referring them to the pharmacist as appropriate. Maintain clean, organized, and secure pharmacy work areas. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance audits as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Clinic Leadership.

Requirements

  • Meet The Wright Center for Community Health and its affiliated entity The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education EOS© People Analyzer Tool.
  • Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model (strongly preferred).
  • Mission-oriented; represents the enterprise in a professional manner while demonstrating organizational pride.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license or registration (required).
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably community or outpatient clinic.
  • Experience in FQHC, 340B, or public health environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, medication safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with 340B Drug Pricing Program and related compliance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) and pharmacy management systems.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
  • Experience in FQHC, 340B, or public health environments strongly preferred.
  • Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model (strongly preferred).
