About The Position
What Specialty Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for fulfilling customer requests, resolving customers' technical problems, and responding to customers' questions through on-site and telephone contact. Cardinal Health is looking for a highly motivated pharmacy technician to work at Southwest Urology in Middleburg Heights, OH. Our technician plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to patients. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- Active Ohio pharmacy technician license required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets, preferred
Nice To Haves
- National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB), preferred
- 2+ years with retail pharmacy technician related experience, preferred
- 340B understanding and experience, preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
- Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change.
- Be available to the customer/patients at all times.
- Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers.
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels and calculating quantities.
- Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B.
- Other duties as assigned.
