Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
  • Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
  • Must maintain BLS/CPR.
  • Must maintain required certifications.
  • Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
  • Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years community pharmacy preferred.
  • 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in verifying medication doses and entering patient information accurately.
  • Ensure patients receive correct medications through proper dispensing procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure safe stocking and filling techniques.
  • Prioritize tasks based on workload demands.
  • Process insurance adjudications and pre-authorizations efficiently.
  • Complete and document Daily and Monthly Activity checklists.
  • Offer and document patient counseling opportunities.
  • Communicate with physicians' offices or insurance companies as needed.
  • Conduct weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document appropriately.
  • Participate in training and education of new and existing employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Notify management of unresolved issues and understand urgency of follow-ups.
  • Track non-stock requests and recommend par adjustments.
  • Participate in physical inventories and support 340b program activities.
  • Maintain prescription files and perform daily filing tasks.
  • Handle cash collections and reconcile prescription fills against billing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
