About The Position
Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem (PRN) Greater Pittsburgh Area Floater VytlOne (formerly Maxor National Pharmacy Services) is seeking a highly competent, customer service oriented, per diem (PRN) Pharmacy Technician to work at our clinic-based pharmacies located in Pittsburgh, PA. The pharmacy team will be an integral part of the care team for each patient. So, you would have a direct hand in improving outcomes. Estimated range of hourly pay is $22-$24 based on experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Willing to float between 3 pharmacies managed by VytlOne
- Active/Clear Pharmacy Technician registration in PA
- Current PTCB Certification, or ability to obtain your certification within 6 months (WE WILL ASSIST)
- A minimum of 2 years retail pharmacy experience
- Proven track record of exemplary customer service
- Computer experience mandatory
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care
- Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
- Provide friendly and cooperative patient service.
- Enter patient data accurately.
- Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
- Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
- Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
- Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders if necessary.
- Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
- Verify NDC number to pull and count medications.
- Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
- Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
- Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
- Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
- Must pass and maintain security clearances as required by client(s).
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
