About The Position

Whole Family Health Center is a non-profit community healthcare organization serving the Treasure Coast for nearly 30 years, offering an integrated approach to healthcare, and striving to be a healthcare home for all members of the community. The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists and the care team by preparing and processing medications, assisting with medication therapy management (MTM), maintaining inventory and formulary compliance, and supporting 340B program requirements. This is a position of trust that directly supports patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred
  • Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License required
  • Level 2 background clearance
  • Required immunizations and health screenings at time of hire
  • BLS Certification
  • 1–3 years of pharmacy experience in a community health center, retail, or hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of 340B program, medical terminology, and brand/generic medications preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; Spanish and/or Creole proficiency a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, compound, package, and label medications under pharmacist supervision
  • Transcribe and assemble prescription orders
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and pharmacies for medication reconciliation and access support
  • Assist patients with medication adherence and access using available resources
  • Maintain medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and removal of expired products
  • Support 340B and standard inventory management
  • Process insurance prior authorizations and billing-related issues
  • Maintain accurate records and a clean, compliant workspace
  • Prepare basic reports and assist with additional pharmacy duties as needed
  • Travel between clinic locations as required
