About The Position

Responsible for assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions. Waits on clients requesting pharmacy services or information. Inputs all pertinent client information into computer; generates pharmacy prescription labels; answers the telephone and works closely with the medical, dental and nursing staff. Driver's License Required. Full - Time Position. Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for greeting and courteously providing assistance to all individuals entering the clinic. Assists pharmacist with the provision of pharmaceutical services. Responsible for maintaining accurate and current record keeping functions. Responsible for maintaining smooth and efficient cashiering functions. Assists with departmental support functions. Performs other duties as assigned. The position requires traveling to different pharmacy sites due to rotation.

Requirements

  • Driver's License Required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in an usual or stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate well to persons of all ages and cultures.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to use hand held calculator or adding machine.
  • Computer skills.
  • Type 35 words per minute.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an approved Pharmacy Technology Program.
  • Certification & registration through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • One year prior experience in retail, clinical or hospital pharmacy.
