About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician supports licensed pharmacists in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy services. This role involves assisting with prescription preparation, inventory management, insurance processing, and customer service. Working in a team-based care environment, the Pharmacy Technician ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, including 340B program requirements, and contributes to Family Healthcare’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved populations. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Enter prescription data, process insurance claims, and manage refill requests. Provide excellent customer service at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and over the phone. Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications; monitor for expired or damaged products. Support compliance with 340B Drug Pricing Program guidelines and documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in accordance with infection control and safety protocols. Adhere to all federal and state pharmacy regulations and FQHC policies. Collaborate with clinical staff to support integrated, team-based patient care. Participate in training, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education as required. Physical Demands: Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable. This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to move or lift documents and materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephones, copiers, fax machines, and personal computers. Position requires frequent contact with fellow employees, patients and community. Position may require travel to other sites for work assignments, meetings or training. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program. Current Pharmacy Technician certification. Familiarity with pharmacy software and technology. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Basic Life Support Certificate required upon hire. Ability to work well as a team, exhibit integrity, use good judgment and keep confidential information. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality consistently. Required Vaccines and Test: Influenza, Tdap, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TB test, and Negative Drug Test results. Additional Vaccines may be required.

Requirements
