Pharmacy Technician - Long Term Care
About The Position
PharmScript, part of the Optum family of businesses, is a leading pharmacy partnering with long-term and post-acute care facilities to supply medications. The company is dedicated to delivering safe, accurate, and timely medication. This role is for a Pharmacy Technician I within the Floor Technician department, supporting the onsite pharmacist in preparing prescription orders for facilities. The technician will ensure pharmacy standards are maintained, policies are carried out, and objectives are accomplished. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, enjoys troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Ability to stand for a full shift with intermittent breaks
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Pharmacy experience
Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
- Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist
- Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
- Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
- Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
- Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
- Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
- Communicates with solid professional verbal and written communication skills
