About The Position

Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist prior to receiving certification. Refill and maintain automated dispensing system. Prepare order and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department. Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds. Repackage bulk medications. Receive and store incoming supplies. Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professional by providing information by providing information.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • 1 year of IV compounding experience required
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations, drug classifications, and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Knowledge of medication compounding procedures and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with drug interactions, contraindications, and side effects
  • Skilled in measuring, packaging, and labeling medications accurately
  • Strong communication skills for daily interaction with other healthcare professionals and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of patient privacy laws and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
