About The Position

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Greets patients and assists in responding to their needs in the pharmacy. Gather patient information and process prescriptions requested by the patient. Exhausts all efforts to communicate with the patient any issue or delay in filling their prescriptions. Notifies Pharmacist and contacts prescriber if appropriate in a timely manner when there is a concern about a prescription related to a drug interaction, allergy, drug disease state interaction, and other circumstances as indicated. Responsible for investigating and resolving third-party payment issues. Serves patients with a professional, caring demeanor for quality patient experience. Responsible for maintaining proper records and documents as required by state and federal laws. Prioritizes and fills prescriptions based on specifics such as waiters, discharges, pyxis, etc to ensure the patients are receiving excellent care and service. Fill bottles and affix appropriate labels for verification by Pharmacist. Load prescription bags into will call system and consolidate daily. Follow procedure to properly return to stock medications. Follow procedure when receiving courier bags. Accurately count and close each register nightly, create daily deposit form, make change for bank each morning, maintain accuracy when counting money at each transaction. Answer phones with proper phone etiquette. Receive and stock daily RX & OTC order. Works together with Pharmacists, other technicians, and all related health care members to help assist patients with dropping off or picking up prescriptions including ringing them up at the cash register. Works together to ensure all supplies including but not limited to vials, caps, bottles, labels, paper, toners, oral syringes, bags are adequately stocked each day and inventory is maintained for use. Maintain and refill robot daily. Assist Pharmacist in daily operations of the outpatient pharmacy. Participate in department huddles Work Schedule: PRN (As Needed) Outpatient Pharmacy Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 7a - 7p, Saturday 9a - 1p, Sunday 1p - 5p.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Must be registered or certified pharmacy technician with the South Carolina state board of Pharmacy
  • Maintain a current registration with the South Carolina State Board of Pharmacy.
  • The Pharmacy Technician must pass a competency test (>75%) within their 6 month probationary period.
