About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian is excited to expand our mission of delivering the highest quality care to Westchester County and surrounding communities. In September 2025, we are opening a state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility at 1111 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, a center designed to set new standards in patient experience, convenience, and quality care. Led by top Columbia doctors, this multi-disciplinary facility will offer specialized adult and pediatric care all under one roof. Pharmacy Technician- Part-time- Located at NYP The One- 1111 Westchester Ave, White Plains, NY Under the supervision of the department management/staff pharmacist, fills routine orders for unit of use and prepacked pharmaceuticals for the departments twenty-four (24) hour unit dose distribution system. Performs other related duties.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read and write English.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy or health care environment (nursing home care).
- Computer/PC experience
- Excellent human relations and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental control standards and infection control standards.
- Counts, packages and labels unit of use medication for inspection by a registered pharmacist and fills routine orders for medications.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
- Assists the registered pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
- May assist with the preparation of Intravenous preparations and delivers such.
- Assists the hospital and department in meeting and exceeding their commitment to continuous quality improvement.
