About The Position

At CVS Health, Pharmacy Technicians are crucial in delivering compassionate care, increasing patient access, lowering costs, and improving care quality. They advise patients on prescriptions and help manage chronic/specialty conditions. The role involves maintaining high professional and ethical standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding patient confidentiality. Technicians manage pharmacy workstations, tasks, and accurately fill prescriptions while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. New technicians must complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet state-specific registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Upon completion, there are opportunities to expand clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and expertise.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Meet state-specific licensure requirements.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted (Attention and Focus).
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner; notice and understand customers’ reactions, and respond appropriately (Customer Service Orientation).
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues; actively listen by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times (Communication Skills).
  • Ability to use math to solve a problem, such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription (Mathematical Reasoning).
  • Ability to judge when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; recognizing there is a problem; choosing the best course of action when faced with a complex situation with several available options (Problem Resolution).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • PTCB National Certification.

  • Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
  • Satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to your State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and expertise by leveraging available tools and training.
