About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician , sometimes referred to as a Registered Certificated Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Tech ( CPhT ) or Board-Certified Pharmacy Technician. The Certified Pharmacy Technicians ( CPhTs ) support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile IVs, chemotherapy, and unit-dose drugs for patients. They manage medication inventory across patient care areas, maintain automated dispensing systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Certified Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in patient safety by verifying orders, preventing errors, and ensuring timely delivery of critical medications. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date
  • State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience
  • Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
  • 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications including unit-dose, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and operate automated dispensing cabinets
  • Manage inventory across nursing units, crash carts, and automated systems while handling controlled substances and monitoring expirations
  • Enter and verify medication orders in hospital EMR systems to ensure accuracy of dosage, form, route, and frequency
  • Support patient safety by checking labels, assisting with medication reconciliation, delivering medications, and preparing drugs for specialized populations
  • Comply with USP standards, maintain regulatory documentation, and take on specialized roles such as IV compounding, clinical support, or lead technician duties
