About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in overall day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Iowa Pharmacy Technician Registration or Trainee Registration Certification required
- Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required, training will be provided
- High school diploma or GED required.

- Bilingual (Spanish) desired
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparing prescriptions accurately and answering patient questions.
- Records medical information using the pharmacy’s management software
- Measures, counts, and mixes medication for prescriptions
- Verifies insurance information, and addresses conflicts with patients or insurance billing companies
- Answers the phone, takes messages and prescription refill information
- Maintains and assists with inventory levels.
- Receives, labels and stocks prescription drugs and prescription supplies
- Assists patients in the enrollment and re-enrollment of pharmaceutical assistance programs
- Assists with maintaining pharmacy compliance.
- Cleans and maintains the pharmacy area
- Completes refrigerator temperature report log
