Pharmacy Technician PRN
About The Position
Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, offers an intensive rehabilitation program for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitation conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas. Admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day. The Pharmacy Technician will provide courteous customer service and assist the pharmacist in maintaining the clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area, prioritizing work, and processing medication orders in compliance with Federal and State laws and Exalt Health’s policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered Pharmacy Tech Certification in the state where you practice
- Current BLS via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
- Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in pharmacy services
- Organizes and prioritizes tasks and projects; accurately completes job responsibilities within the specified time constraints
- Adheres to ethical, regulatory, and accreditation standards
- Speaks and communicates English effectively in verbal and written format; writes legibly
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information
- Adapts to changes necessitated by patient/staff situations
- Seeks assistance as needed
- Functions proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and follow instructions
- Ability to foster a positive, effective patient care environment
- Respects Patient Rights and promotes patient satisfaction
Responsibilities
- Provide courteous customer service
- Assist the pharmacist in maintaining the clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area
- Prioritize work
- Process medication orders in compliance with Federal and State laws and Exalt Health’s policies and procedures
- Fill medication boxes
- Replace stock items
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders
- Greet patients and answer questions
- Help pharmacists perform medication reconciliation by collecting and organizing patient information
