Think you’ve got what it takes to join our TIC team? Keep reading… A day in the life… Wondering what a day in the life of a Pharmacy Technician at The Iowa Clinic might look like? Arrive at work in the morning - no night shifts here! Represents the clinic by providing advanced-level patient services as you prepare, dispense, repackage, and mix medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols. Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and checking for expired medications. Operate pharmacy automation and technology to assist with medication preparation and dispensing. Perform pharmaceutical calculations and quality control checks before final pharmacist verification. Conduct medication history interviews and maintain accurate patient medication and allergy records. Support the prior authorization process and communicate with clinics, providers, and patients as needed. Ensure pharmacy compliance with FDA, DEA, and other regulatory standards through audits and documentation. Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other staff to support safe and effective medication use. Assist in training new technicians and contribute to updating pharmacy policies and procedures. Strives to create The Iowa Clinic Experience with each interaction. Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!

Requirements

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training Program.
  • Highly motivated to work in a healthcare setting.

  • 2 years of customer service in a pharmacy tech role preferred
  • Chemotherapy experience preferred
