As a part time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include repackaging medications, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. Location: Old Vineyard Behavioral Health facility is a 162-bed acute inpatient psychiatric facility servicing adult, geriatric & adolescent patients. The facility is located on a beautiful, spacious campus in Winston-Salem, NC. Schedule: This position is scheduled to work one or two weekends a month, both Saturday and Sunday, from 8:00am-2:30pm and provide additional coverage as needed and as available to cover full-time technician PTO. About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am to 2:30pm and utilizes Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current North Carolina pharmacy technician registration in good standing
  • Recent experience in a pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience in a hospital pharmacy
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications across campus to Omnicell units
  • Repackaging bulk medication bottles into unit dose packages, labeling of med doses
  • Collaborating with pharmacists and nurses for patient care
