This position supports the pharmacist on-duty by greeting patients, processing prescriptions (data entry, insurance claims, filling, and dispensing), and assisting clinical staff with prescription information. The role involves assembling and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, processing both paper and electronic prescriptions, and managing insurance adjudication to minimize patient costs. Responsibilities also include responding to provider and patient requests, maintaining records according to company policy and state/federal law, and inventory management, including controlled substances. Non-sterile compounding is also part of the role. The position requires attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent customer service, dependability, a positive attitude, and a passion for high-quality, holistic, and compassionate care. The technician must be willing to continuously grow, learn, and accept diverse cultures, while maintaining compliance with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy licensing and Heart of Ohio Health Relias training. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday during standard business hours, subject to change due to business necessity. The primary work area is within the pharmacy on the second floor of a medical office environment, which is kept at a normal working temperature, sanitized daily, and maintains a standard pharmacy environment with minimal opportunities to sit and long hours standing. The environment includes standard office equipment like computers, copiers, and fax machines. Physical demands include mobility, occasional bending and reaching, ability to lift/carry normal stacks of documents, push/pull office equipment, dexterity for keyboard/calculator use, accurate hearing, safe visual perception, and clear speaking.
