About The Position

The Sterile Fill Technician will support pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications. They are also responsible for the fulfillment of pharmaceutical preparations under the supervision of the pharmacist.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Able to use a computer and other office technology
Attention to detail to identify defective products
Strong organizational skills
Must be licensed by the State you are applying to work in as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting, or carrying boxes.
Ability to stand for extended periods

Visual acuity

Responsibilities

Processes medication orders or prescriptions
Supports the pharmacists in more complex batch preparations according to a predetermined formula.
Fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules.
Assists pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication.
Operates and uses appropriate techniques within systems for storage, preparation and dispensing of medicinal agents.
Follows the healthcare centers policies regarding medication preparation, labeling, and controlled substances reconciliation.
Supports in purchasing of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
Helps maintain orderly, clean environment in the Pharmacy, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
Places stock on shelves or racks
Collects/picks up empty containers or rejected merchandise.
Receives and stores incoming supplies; counts stock and enters date in computer to maintain inventory records.
Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
