About The Position

About Pulmonary Clinic Our multi-disciplinary pulmonary team is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with many lung conditions. We take immense pride in the strong relationships we build with our patients, their families, and our colleagues, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment. The Pulmonary service line consists of 51 providers across 7 clinical sites. The Pharmacy Technician would support all sites, including our four specialty clinics: Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, and Sarcoidosis. The multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, respiratory therapists, medical assistants, patient service representatives, physicians, and advanced practice providers, working collaboratively to support complex pulmonary patients. Scope of work This position is a supportive role for the systems ambulatory clinics. The tasks for this position will include, but are not limited to, completing pre and/or prior authorizations, assisting with patient assistance programs, scheduling patients from provider referrals or other registries, working with insurance companies to review coverages, communicating with patients and clinical staff, and managing parts of the medication use cycle. There will be additional opportunities to think innovatively and collaborate on projects with other departments and within our own department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Michigan Pharmacy Technician License Required Upon Hire
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification 90 Days

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year of Retail or Ambulatory Pharmacy Experience Preferred
  • Prior Authorization Experience or Insurance Navigation experience Preferred
  • Epic experience Preferred
  • Ideal candidate will possess both Full Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT
  • Ideal candidate will possess excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills as well as strong tme management and organizational skills
