About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions, engage with customers, and support pharmacy operations while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist in entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and checking for possible interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in administering clinical services and coordinating with healthcare providers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
