About The Position

Shifts will primarily be during daylight/evening hours. The hours are subject to change based on the business needs of the department. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Employment experience required (one of the following is required): Prior pharmacy technician experience, College Degree (minimally an Associates degree) and previous related healthcare experience, Completion of a formal pharmacy technician certificate course, Completion of one full year of education at a college/university with an accredited school of pharmacy and enrolled in coursework working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Responsibilities

• Repackage, prepare, and label medications, IV solutions, and non-sterile compounds; perform calculations and complete documentation.
• Deliver, transfer, and remove medications across patient care units; ensure pharmacist review before dispensing.
• Handle controlled substances per protocol.
• Respond to phone calls, assist customers, and manage pneumatic tube station.
• Fill and deliver interdepartmental orders; inspect and remove expired or recalled medications.
• Operate pharmacy equipment (e.g., dispensing cabinets, computers, fax machines).
• Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workspaces.
• Complete documentation for medication credits, charges, and logs.
• Travel between facilities as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and other hospital staff.
