Logan Health's Whitefish Hospital Pharmacy is looking for a licensed Pharmacy Technician to be part of our dedicated inpatient team! Requirements

  • Possess an active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.
  • RQI First Responder required.
  • Proficient working knowledge of aseptic technique for preparing sterile products.
  • Proficient typing skills required.
  • Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital Pharmacy experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience in Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and complete all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to all areas assigned including, but not limited to; inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing.
  • Filling the automated dispensing machines and utilizing the bar code scanning.
  • Filling patient drawers in all nursing units.
  • Delivering medications in the most efficient manner to all assigned areas.
  • Completes rounds according to current policy.
  • Promptly and efficiently answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries and routes appropriately as needed.
  • Performs all tasks associated with maintaining the pharmacy inventory.
  • Exhibits a working knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems.
  • Aids in staff development, orients new employees and students, participates in quality assessment, and improvement projects.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly environment.
