About The Position
Sentara is hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee at Norfolk General Hospital. The Pharmacy Tech Trainee performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications, ensuring adequate supplies for patient care, triaging questions outside the pharmacy technician's scope, using systems for processing patient information, maintaining quality assurance, and operating pharmacy equipment. Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required. Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice.
