As a Pharmacy Technician in Training at Rite Aid, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our mission of improving health and wellness in the community. This position offers a unique opportunity to receive free training through our exclusive Rite Aid Pharmacy Technician Training & Certification Program. Your primary goal will be to successfully complete this program and transition into a full-fledged Pharmacy Technician role within our organization. In this position, you will engage in various tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the pharmacy. You will be responsible for entering prescription information, which includes patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic documentation. Additionally, you will accept customer and prescription information necessary for processing new and refill prescriptions, including obtaining refill authorizations from doctor offices. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include retrieving medications from inventory, creating prescription labels, placing medications into prescription containers, and completing the necessary paperwork related to filling prescriptions. You will input customer and prescription data into the computer system and assist in maintaining the pharmacy department by ensuring it remains clean and organized. Furthermore, you will be involved in inventory management processes, which include order reviews, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and preparing for physical inventory. As a Pharmacy Technician in Training, you will also administer various Rite Aid programs, such as FlavoRx and Living More. It is important to note that this role requires flexibility, as our Pharmacy Technicians work weekdays, weekends, evening shifts, and some holidays.
