As a full-time, exempt Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, you work under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy. This position is responsible for, including but not limited to, workflow optimization, productivity evaluation, completion of daily work and supervision of the Pharmacy Technician team. This individual works to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner and meet all financial and clinical requirements prior to fulfillment, including the provision of customer service and expertise to patients, staff, and providers. When assisting in pharmacy technician duties, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. Location: Memorial Hospital of Gardena in Gardena, CA Pharmacy Hours: The centralized pharmacy is open 24/7 and supported by CPOE and Pyxis Schedule: This full time, nonexempt position will work 40 hours/week in a variety of day/evening/night shifts in this 24/7 centralized pharmacy You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital setting
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB/CPhT
  • 3+ years of acute care hospital pharmacy experience
  • 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Buyer

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
  • Prepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards
  • Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
  • Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
  • Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations
