The inpatient pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. Cleveland Clinic's inpatient pharmacy areas support distributive and clinical pharmacy services provided by staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists and pharmacy technicians, supporting 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs, and 10 Cath labs, accounting for over 1,440 inpatient beds. As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician on the Sterile Products Team, you will be responsible for patient-specific and batch compounding of sterile preparations used by our inpatient and ambulatory populations and throughout our procedure suites in accordance with USP <797> and <800> regulatory standards with a focus on safety, quality, and timeliness. A caregiver in this role works variable hours, including three weeks of day shift followed by one week of second shift. Day shifts run from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and second shifts are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This position is Monday through Friday and includes a rotating weekend every third week.
