Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy technician certification in the appropriate state
• Minimum one year of related experience in data entry
• Excellent data entry skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with preparation of routine medications for distribution to facilities based on physician orders and prescriptions
• Fill cycle medication orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner
• Review pre-pack list and prepare 30/31 day cards with the appropriate drug
• Work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist assisting with dispensing medication according to the prescription
• Assist the inventory tech with restocking and cleaning shelves with medication and other items as needed
• May assist with regular inventory cycle
• Assist in shipping the medications according to the facility and work with the shipping clerk to ensure boxes are shipped in a timely manner
• Sort prescriptions according to facility and print packing slips for cycle exchange
• Communicate with nursing staff to obtain/provide key information
• Follow all applicable government regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
