About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus for a 1-year commitment Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist. Precepts Pharmacy Technician I and IIs. Serves as primary preceptor for new hires, including coordination of on-boarding and orientation checklist completion. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Processes medication orders including computer order entry, medication preparation and assembles all items prior to pharmacist final check. (20%) Maintains pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures, including inspection of assigned areas and use of pharmacy computer systems. (20%) Provides customer service by taking patient’s prescriptions and documenting all required information, handles all customer interactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and releases medications required by policy/procedure. (20%) Precepts Pharmacy Technician I & IIs and Interns. Serves as primary preceptor for new hires, including coordination of on-boarding and orientation checklist completion. (15%) Patient Population: Outpatient Techs: Validates Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance drug coverage and ensures adjudication is complete addressing any error messages, plus handles cash, prepares deposits and accounting reports. Inpatient Techs: Compounds, stocks, repackages and batches from bulk medications. Prepares routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals including compounding, preparation and labeling of any IV admixture including antibiotics, solutions, irrigations, narcotics, parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy. (25%) Central Fill Pharmacy: Safe operation of equipment assigned, including but not limited to: forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School / GED
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • 4 years relevant experience
  • Upon hire and before start date, registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee through the PA State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current incumbents as of December 14, 2025 have until June 30, 2026 to register.
