About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Retail prepares and sells medications, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and following what is allowed by local, state, and federal laws, as well as provides bedside delivery services. This position fulfills a number of additional responsibilities such as couriering medication to offsite facilities. This position reports directly to the Manager Retail Pharmacy Operations and in the absence of the Manager, the technician will report to the person designated by the Manager. The Technician is required to have open availability. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Assist in the management of medications bound for offsite locations. Assist in the ordering and maintenance of an economic and adequate inventory to service the needs of the client and the requirements of their patients. Participate in cycle counting process and the resolution of any discrepancies. Assist in the preparation and performing of required physical inventories. Assist in the maintenance of all medication storage areas. Assist in the receiving and placement of incoming stock to medication storage areas. Replenish dispensing areas with medication stock and supplies. Replenish automation equipment with medication stock and supplies.

Requirements

  • Required Certificate
  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy Tech, State Cert (PHT) - State Licensing Board
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) - State Licensing Board

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years Retail Pharmacy Preferred
  • 1 year Outpatient Hospital Pharmacy Preferred
  • 1 year Epic Willow Ambulatory Preferred
