About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy department by preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. This position is essential in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients in a specialty hospital setting, particularly for those with chronic and critically ill conditions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Certification/Licensure as required by state.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Basic understanding of computer use in processing prescription orders with minimum word processing skills.
• Proven experience in maintaining positive relationships with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Dispense additives for IV and irrigating solutions under supervision.
• Mix IV additive solutions using aseptic technique with the laminar air flow hood.
• Type labels and prepare charge slips for medications.
• File charge slips and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
