About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield is responsible for performing various tasks related to the dispensing of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Preferred).
• State Pharmacy Technician license (Required in CA and OR).
• Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification (Preferred).
• Facility Specific License/Certifications: State Pharmacy Technician (PTC) (Required).

Responsibilities

• Perform packaging and manipulative tasks related to the furnishing of drugs under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Fill and deliver unit dose cassettes from patient profiles to nursing units.
• Pull medications from stock and match them with corresponding labels generated by the pharmacist.
• Maintain floor stock by restocking, removing expired medications, and rotating stock in nursing and medication areas.
• Price and stock incoming deliveries and prepare IV medication products according to applicable laws and regulations.
• Check in orders from wholesalers and suppliers, distributing stock appropriately and filing paperwork.
• Process returns and back orders in a timely manner.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
