About The Position

This position is for a dentist within the Federal service, specifically for locations in Fort Hall, ID; Salem, OR; Warm Springs, OR; Nespelem, WA; Omak, WA; and Toppenish, WA. The role requires a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution. Applicants must also have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry. The position is open from January 16, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position.

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
• Passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE).
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry.
• For GS-12 level, one or more years of experience performing professional dentistry work.
• Completion of a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or related medical science for GS-12 level.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in dealing with dental health cases presenting patient-behavior and communication problems.
• Completion of additional training or equivalent experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of professional dental duties requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.
• Diagnose and administer treatment for dental diseases and dental health problems of greater-than-usual difficulty.
• Evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
• Remove decay, fill cavities, straighten, extract, and repair teeth.
• Treat gum diseases and perform corrective surgery.
• Make measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth.
• Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions.
