About The Position

Pharmacy Technicians assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for following established policies and procedures, receiving, reviewing, sorting, and processing drug and supply orders. Responsibilities include preparing IV admixtures and chemotherapy, filling UD medications, managing Pyxis, barcoding, and medication reconciliation. A good knowledge of the computer system is essential. Prefer knowledge in barcoding, inventory management, and Pyxis. The technician must be able to interview patients to complete Medication Reconciliation. Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Mandatory high school diploma or GED equivalent
• CPhT or Pharm Intern certification
• Completion of a technician training program or equivalent pharmacy technician hospital work experience
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum of one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience; inpatient experience
• Good computer skills and able to maintain databases
• Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

• IV skills and barcode experience
• Knowledge in barcoding, inventory management, and Pyxis
